Environment Tranquil: A Nature-Inspired Residential House

Creating an Elegant and Quiet Spatial Atmosphere

Chin-Hsu Huang, the renowned designer, has created a masterpiece in the form of Environment Tranquil, a residential house that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. This unique design showcases the beauty of nature and provides a tranquil living space for its inhabitants.

The strength of Environment Tranquil lies in its use of stone, veneer, streamlined ceilings, and outdoor landscaping to represent the elements of mountains, forests, water, and landscapes. These natural elements, combined with the flow of breeze and sky, create an elegant and quiet spatial atmosphere that is both refreshing and calming.

The clever use of texture in this design not only divides common spaces but also enables a seamless connection between different areas, providing abundant possibilities for open spaces. The marble walls of the living room merge perfectly with the wooden interface through the indented superstructure, while the warm-colored veneer extends towards the ceiling, reducing the feeling of pressure in the space. The streamlined shape of the veneer covers a large area and encompasses the girders, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall design.

With a total area of 297 square meters, Environment Tranquil offers a spacious and comfortable living environment. The furniture designs reflect the preferences and needs of the family members, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the home and creating a natural, environmentally friendly, and elegant life blueprint.

The project, which started in August 2013 and finished in April 2014, is located in Taichung City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, Chin-Hsu Huang and his team, including Yi-Jing Liao and Chun-Chieh Chan, conducted extensive research to ensure that the design truly captures the essence of nature. The internal and external environments of the house reflect each other, creating a harmonious blend of man-made and natural elements.

Environment Tranquil has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2015. This award recognizes the design's outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence. The design has been praised for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, evoking positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
